Two iconic climbs of Il Lombardia – Ghisallo and Muro di Sormano – await those who want to challenge their legs and hearts like the professionals do every autumn. The mileage is not long, but what brings awe is the challenging ascent of these two legendary climbs. The Ghisallo [official Strava segment] is only 8.6 km, but is made of two steep climbs that rarely dip below 10% and hit with a maximum of 14%. After a photo at the Madonna del Ghisallo and a fast descent from the pass, you begin the stiff 5 km climb to the base of the Muro di Sormano. Be sure not to blow yourself up on this first climb that averages 8% or your legs will not have the strength to continue up the feared Muro. This is the steepest cycle path in Italy which measures 1.9 km with an average gradient of 16% and peaks at 25%. When you reach the summit have a rest at the rifugio to regain your strength before the 13 km of steep technical descending off the Colma di Sormano to the lake.

What makes us particularly proud and enthusiastic: words from our guests
Surreal luxury experience at an incredible price
I didn’t stay here, but I booked a table at the restaurant for my dad’s 60th birthday. It was absolutely incredible. Lunch at Il Perlo is the best way to GUARANTEE a great Lake Como experience because the view is so absolutely spectacular you’re forced to question if it’s real. They have a shuttle, which makes it SUPER accessible and is a quick drive from the pier. The chef made special veg dishes for us. The experience – for a mind-boggling good price – was absolutely fantastic. I would especially recommend the place to international travelers or people who are coming from far-off cities. It’s the single best place to book if you don’t want to take any risks or chances with your holiday experience.
Bike Hotel | Cycling holiday
Breathtakingly beautiful location in Italy Lake Como, Topped off by irrecrible cycling team! Had the most wonderful time and experience. Carlo and the Team created a hassle free cycling experience, nestled in the hill of Lake Como. It was a dream come true for me to cycle with this Bike shop. Huge thank you to the Athos and Beau Bikes for looking after me, especially Athos! Really enjoyed cycling with you both. Thank you to Carlo and Team, for making my birthday special! Looking forward to seeing you all soon xx
Il Perlo Panorama is exactly what it say in its name” “A pearl with amazing Panoramic views”
The hospitality of Signor Carlo , his Mother Signora Piera & their staff were so attentive & could not do enough for our group.
The rooms are spacious & clean. Choice of basic rooms to larger suites.
I would recommend this to small & large groups
A real "home away from home"
An outstanding family-operated place, with a very unique view over the lake. It is an excellent place to stay in Bellagio, highly recommended and with a very relaxing atmosphere. The owners and the staff are all very nice persons and do their best to help and make the guests feel at home. The area offers endless places to visit, and our next time will certainly be in this hotel.
A short but mythical ride. Once you reach the top of the Muro di Sormano, you can say that you have made a real achievement.
