La Città Nuova oltre Sant’Elia. Cento anni di visioni urbane
LAST OPENING DAYS TO VISIT THE SHOW PROMOTED BY THE CITY OF COMO AT VILLA OLMO AND PALACE VOLPI.
The exhibition looks at a century of urban visions, through 100 works, some of them unpublished, including paintings, films, models, installations by artists, architects, filmmakers, like Antonio Sant’Elia, Umberto Boccioni, Fernand Léger, Mario Sironi, Le Corbusier, Frank Lloyd Wright, Fritz Lang, Yona Friedman, Archizoom, Superstudio, Chris Burden, Carsten Höller and many others.
The section held at Palazzo Volpi, home of Pinacoteca Civica, presents 50 drawings by Antonio Sant’Elia, owned by the Municipality of Como, inaccessible to the general public for years. The exhibition is the first of a project conceived in three steps which will develop in the next three years. The event will see its completion in 2015, to coincide with the opening of the Expo 2015 in Milan, with a major exhibition dedicated to the issues of urban space, its identity and future, places and forms of collective coexistence.
The free guided tours will be conducted Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 6:30 pm, Sunday at 8:00 pm.
